curieux: who are we?
Since 1972, Curieux has been a consolidation of phenomenal student works, often the student’s first ever publication. Formerly known as CCAESARIAN and Curio, Curieux became an online magazine in 2016 as a modern representative of the student body.
The history of Curieux is a proud one which was founded to provide a voice for students. Over the years Curieux has tackled a range of issues. Today, Curieux focuses on UC-related issues, including arts, politics and much more.
As the publishing industry dips evermore into the digital domain, Curieux too, is transitioning to a predominantly online platform. Not only does this grant students a more efficient and lasting platform for their works, but the transition also aligns with Curieux’s strong stance on sustainability.
Curieux has been publishing their print editions on recyclable paper since 2021; however, going predominantly digital will also reduce the magazine’s overall carbon footprint.

Curieux (cue-ri-oh) is UC’s student magazine – it’s a platform to share ideas, opinions and creative work!
We publish regular, themed editions of our digital magazine, alongside a steady stream of diverse content on our website. To capture the range of perspectives across the student body, Curieux encourages submissions on any topic of interest for our website, in addition to work for themed editions.

We accept submissions on any topic and in nearly any medium.

We also host the Curieux Collective fortnightly on Thursday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

We accept submissions in a variety of mediums – prose fiction, poetry, articles, reviews, visual art, photography, films, original music, infographics – almost anything!
We gladly accept assignments, however, please talk to us beforehand so we can manage any potential publication conflicts.
If you have an idea or finished piece and are unsure if it fits Curieux just send us an email, our editors are here to help you.

Curieux (UC’s student magazine) is hosting a fortnightly get together for readers and contributors. If you’re into writing, making art or just like enjoying the creative work of others, come along to meet some new friends, talk about the things you’re passionate about and maybe share some work in a supportive and collaborative environment.
We meet from 15:00 – 17:00, every second Thursday throughout the semester. Meetings are in room 1C75 (above the refectory). See you there!
