A Good Story

She searches for a good story to ease her troubled mind

When faith runs thin,

to muster hope

in times of defeat

Before the dust settles

she needs a good story to hold on to

that shines light on her shadows,

to tell her she’s not alone

So she can make sense of the world

and put things into perspective,

instead of falling into frustration

A reminder that love is stronger than fear;

a good story holds compassion,

for its people tell her to keep believing

in kindness

and belonging:

there are stories upon stories

that have shaped her identity,

evoking what’s deep within

Without good stories life gets claustrophobic

and her ‘what if?’s wither away

and she forgets to breathe…

It’s the vibe of the thing!

she believes in the power of a good story

to keep us keeping on,

to honour the honourable

It looks back so we can move on

to progress

and heal
