UC Reveals Parts of Their 2022 Plan for Returning to Campus

By Phoebe Davies

As 2022 rapidly approaches, UC has started to announce parts of their plan for a full community wide return to campus commencing Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. This will see the return of staff and students on campus, with face-to-face teaching options and various on campus activities and events resuming and will see the return of the vibrant campus culture and community we’ve been missing.

This full community wide return to campus will still be contingent on government advice and recommendations, and UC has said they’ll be following COVID-safe principles to ensure the community is protected and as the new ‘normal’ resumes. As the pandemic has proven, time and time again, this is an ever-evolving situation, so the details provided may change over time, but, as UC has done previously, staff and students will be made aware of these changes as they occur.

UC is currently encouraging everyone in the community to get vaccinated, and when you can, get your booster shot. But for those who will be in high-risk settings, such as the UC Medical and Counselling Centre, or any health and education settings that are outside UC’s normal teaching or study facilities, or if you will be conducting university related travel, either domestic or international, then you will be required to be fully vaccinated. Additionally, if you are entering student residences, you will be subject to the same vaccine mandate.

UC has an exciting year ahead, so with your help, UC’s plan to return to campus will go seamlessly. More information will be provided to students prior to the start of semester one, 2022, which will let you know what is required for your 2022 return to campus.
