Canberra’s annual display of light returned this year, officially launching last night at the National Library. Along with it comes the return of the ever-growing Night Noodle Markets.

The Noodle Markets feature authentic Asian cuisine as well as all your festival favourites. Inside you can find a variety of flavours to suit your tastes. This year’s markets sees a big focus in the dessert department to keep both little and big kids alike satisfied.

A number of bars set up inside the markets provide a quite escape from the hustle and bustle of the festival. Tables and chairs fill the top of reconciliation place providing a family friendly space to enjoy the markets before heading out to see the light projections. Being a family friendly event means even the dog can come along too, with dogs on leads being allowed inside the markets.

Open until late, entry is free for the event but you’ll need to take your card along with you, as there are no cash payments for the Noodle Markets.

The Enlighten festivals also sees cultural institutions lit up with interactive projections throughout the night. This year sees The National Library, Questacon, The National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery and both Old and New Parliament Houses being lit up.

The festival runs for 16 days and includes a number of events across the parliamentary triangle and the city. This is the first year Canberra’s biggest annual fireworks display, Skyfire, is also included as part of the official festival line up.

Enlighten runs 2 – 18 March 2018. For info on events and open times head over to
